Anyway, below are some conferences that did go ahead this year, and a link to their audio. This doesn't include the few conferences that were on about coping with going online or using the downtime to restructure and pivot your church to someplace else.
Together for the Gospel 2020 - I only have just listened to most of the main talks and I have found them encouraging. Pretty much the goal of this conference is to remind pastors of the Gospel every two years, by reflecting on different aspects of what the Gospel is. I found Greg Gilbert's talk on the Gospel, engaging with Scot McKnight useful, Davit Platt was honest and encouraging with examples from Charles Simeon's life. Kevin DeYoung also gave a good talk on another attribute of God. Other speakers include: John Piper, Al Mohler and Mark Dever
KYCK Live (you can find this in the KCC app)- At the start of Term 2, KYCK put on a Friday night live stream, maybe to help keep their brand, but also I thought it helped a whole bunch of youth groups around Australia. Brett Hookham spoke on Hebrews 10:19-25 looking at the three "lettuces" (let us) statements.
KYCK2020 - Past Present & Future (I can't find this in their app, but it does have a terrible search): When it became obvious that large events weren't going to happen, in the Term 3 holidays KYCK put on another live stream with 3 talks from 1 Thessalonians. This was complement with some small group discussions that looked at other parts of this short letter. Safty Ben (Ben Staunton) gave the first talk, framing it about the ripples Christianity has caused in history, I thought maybe we could have looked at Act 17 for some more context of Paul having to leave Thessalonica in a hurry, with some crazies on the ground and this was his letter back to them after hearing they had stood firm. Matt Sparks gave the last talk, where it was going to be the clear turn your life around/repent to God/make a commitment talk that KYCK does, but I felt for the guy, as the weekend 1 we watched, the poor guy had a big coughing fit and struggled to the end of this talk, of which I think he may have ended it early. It was still a great event for youth groups to put on, over the holidays. I did have one teen tell me from the second talk, that they had never considered that through Jesus, God sees them as holy, which was encouraging. (I didn't mention that the previous term I tried to say the same thing.
Shepherds' Conference 2020 - I haven't listened to this audio, but the conference does look good. There are two talks on the Perspicuity of Scripture that I am keen to hear, and there some other speakers in there that I would be happy to listen to such as, Bob Kauflin, Paul Washer and Conrad Mbewe.
